A former Carleton student charged with possession of child pornography last year has been cleared of wrongdoing after the Crown withdrew the charge on Sept 12, 2011, according to court officials.

Adam Boyko, a former Carleton computer science student from New Jersey, was arrested on campus on March 30, 2011 and charged with one count of possession of child pornography after Ottawa police discovered video and photographs of child pornography on his laptop.

The case was sent by the Ontario Superior Court to a lower remand court for reconsideration in September, where Crown attorney Matthew Collins withdrew the charge.
