This year’s Board of Governors race will feature nine Carleton students running for two positions, with one spot for both an undergraduate and a graduate student.

There are seven students campaigning for the undergraduate position, while two students will contest the graduate spot, according to the board’s website.

The board also appoints one student member each from the undergraduate and graduate student associations.

The board is Carleton’s highest financial governing body, and includes members of the community, alumni, and Carleton employees, such as the president.

The board passes items such as budgets for construction on campus, and the university’s total budget, which includes an amount raised through tuition fees.

Harrison Boyd, Ian Gillies, Ryan Husk, Rana Nazzal, Christian Robillard, Alibek Sergaliyev, and Julia Vowles are the seven candidates in the running for the undergraduate spot.

Julie Davis and Christina Muehlberger are the two candidates registered in the graduate student election.

The campaigning period began Feb. 24 and is scheduled to continue until March 9.

Carleton students are scheduled to vote online through Carleton Central between March 10 and 12.

The 2014 student representatives will be announced March 13.
