The unofficial results for the 2019 Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) election were presented to the Charlatan by chief electoral officer Nada Ibrahim.

7,783 votes were cast (27.8 per cent of the undergraduate body), marking a 2.6 per cent decrease from last year’s byelection (30.4 per cent of the undergraduate body).

For a candidate to win on a ranked ballot, they must achieve 50 per cent or more of the cast votes. If that does not occur, the candidate with the least amount of votes is eliminated and students’ votes are transferred according to their second ranked candidate.

This year’s election marked the third time that ranked voting in the form of the ‘matrix’ system was used.

Candidates marked in bold are the victors.
