Justin Campbell for computer science councillor

45

Name: Justin Campbell

Program/year: Computer science, third year

Position running for: Computer science councillor

1. Why are you running for CUSA council?

I am the incumbent councillor in the department. Over the past two terms I have been able to contribute to the department and the Carleton community at large and I would like to continue my strong record.

2. What do you think makes you a good candidate?

Two years of experience, a critical eye taken to process and procedure, and a fresh air of transparency and accountability. I put the time into engaging with the students, and I hope to continue these important facets of democratic representation.

3. What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?

– I hope to open up the finances to the entire student population, and make it easy to search and retrieve information about our finances.

– Better accountability to myself, the council, and the committee, by announcing office hours and meeting times and locations well in advance.

4. What’s one fun fact about yourself?

This will be my third time in the electoral process; I have been twice honoured to serve, and I look forward to serving again.
