No polling stations on Ontario college campuses

Elections Ontario will be relocating advanced and election day polls at colleges across the province due to an ongoing support staff strike, according to a press release.

The decision will affect the accessibility of voting polls for more than 200,000 college students across Ontario, according to the Toronto Star.
After attempts at a contract agreement failed, 8000 support workers at colleges across Ontario abandoned their posts Sept. 1, leaving gaps in the inner-workings of Ontario’s 24 colleges.

Attacks surrounding B.C. law school

A recent series of attacks were directed towards 10 people who have connections with the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC), according to the Vancouver Sun.

“Disturbingly, it seems innocent people have been subject to the arsons of their homes and vehicles, while some have had their residences or vehicles shot at,” RCMP chief superintendent Janice Armstrong said in a press release.

Armstrong told the Vancouver Sun that no one has been injured in these attacks, which began in April, and continued through last month.

Parents of slain Yale student taking school to court

The family of a murdered Yale student is suing the university for failing to protect women, according to Reuters.

Yale took “inadequate steps to ensure the safety and security of women on its campus,” the family’s lawyer told Reuters.

The 24-year-old medical student, Annie Le, was murdered Sept. 8, 2009.

Le was killed by one of the technicians, Raymond Clark, the International Business (IB) Times reported.
