Carleton University’s campus is cancelling all classes and closing campus after 5:30 p.m today.

Campus will be closed until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

According to the an official press release, due to worsening weather conditions, all classes, tutorials, labs, tests, meetings, and other on-campus activities will be cancelled at Carleton’s campus.

Midterms and assignments during this time period will be re-scheduled by each professor.

Earlier today, Environment Canada released a winter storm warning for southern Ontario. It stated snowfall amounts of 30 to 40 cm and gusting winds of 60 km/h are expected to be blowing in Tuesday evening and to continue through Wednesday.

“Major impacts to travel are likely with this storm. Localized power outages are also possible,” the Environment Canada release said.

“Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.”
