TC: How did you get your start in hockey?

Brandon MacLean (BM): I guess I would’ve been three years old, and my dad built a hockey rink in the backyard. He put a stick in my hand, and off I went.

TC: How much training do you put in regularly?

BM: About four or five times a week.

TC: What do you attribute your success to?

BM: I’ve put in a lot of hard work and sought some guidance at the right times through my career that kind of pointed me in the right direction.

TC: What do you hope to do with hockey once you’ve graduated?

BM: Next year, I’d like to go play pro hockey in the [United States] or in Europe for a couple of years and see how that goes. Then, try and get a nice contract in the American Hockey League. If that doesn’t pan out, I’ve got my university degree, which is what I came here for. . . something to fall back on if it doesn’t work in the end.
