Summer students looking to grab a cup of coffee from the library Starbucks will have to look elsewhere.

Carleton University’s Starbucks located near the main entrance of MacOdrum Library is closed, and the space is set to become the university’s second Bridgehead location.

“The Starbucks Page Break location in MacOdrum Library is being renovated over the summer to become Carleton University’s second Bridgehead location, highlighting a partnership with the coffee roastery that was started and continues to thrive in the Ottawa region,” Carleton confirmed in an email to the Charlatan on Friday.

This renovation will be complete by the end of the summer term, the statement confirmed.

The university did not respond to questions about the decision to close the Starbucks location, nor whether campus disruptions are expected amid construction.

Starbucks locations remain in Teraanga Commons and Nideyinàn, while Carleton’s first Bridgehead location is in the Nicol Building.

Bridgehead is a Canadian-owned and operated business that’s been serving fairly-traded coffee for more than 40 years, according to its website.
