With her freshly printed journalism degree in hand, Anna Sophia is ready to lead the Charlatan through the year as the Editor-in-Chief of Volume 47. Her experience with the Charlatan was one of the best parts of her time at Carleton, from being a reporter, hanging out in the office, and working as one of the News Editors last year. She’s passionate about every section in the paper, and about keeping Carleton students informed. Naomi Librach: News Editor

Naomi is a fourth-year journalism student from Guelph, Ont. After graduating from the International Baccalaureate Programme in high school, Naomi decided to put her grammar and writing skills to good use by pursuing a career in journalism. She got involved with the Charlatan last year after ignoring story emails for three years, and hasn’t regretted it one bit. When she’s not passive-aggressively reminding sources to call her back, Naomi loves to catch up on her many favourite TV shows, read a book or cook up a storm in the kitchen. Rachel Emmanuel: News Editor

Rachel Emmanuel is a third year journalism student from Niagara, ON. On the rare occasions she’s not working on a beat, you can find her out with friends or watching documentaries at home. Rachel began writing for the Charlatan in her second year at Carleton when she was looking for a way to get more involved. She loves attending events and having the inside scoop on what’s happening on campus. As a budding political reporter, she especially loves covering intense CUSA council meetings. Haneen Al-Hassoun: National Editor

Before you wonder or ask, yes, Haneen has hair under her scarf and doesn’t shower in it. Now that we’ve got the awkward part out of the way, Haneen is a 20-year-old with Palestinian origins who loves writing and speaking her mind thus choosing to invest her life in j-school. When she is not camping out on the fifth floor of Carleton’s library or in the Charlatan office, you can find her at Roosters or Starbucks grabbing her tenth cup of black coffee for the day. Dan Robertson: Sports Editor

Dan Robertson is a third-year global and international studies student specializing in communications. Born in the village of Peterborough, Ont., Dan put on skates at the young age of four. He ended up hating it and didn’t try again until he was six—to this day he blames those long two years as the reason he didn’t make it to the NHL. Once his dreams of winning the house league championship were crushed, Dan picked up a pen and paper and begin to cover local high school sports for his school newspaper.
