Coming off a home-opener loss to the University of Windsor Lancers Nov. 13, the Carleton women’s basketball team finished their double-header with a second defeat – this time against the University of Western Mustangs.

 

Their regular season record now stands at 2-3-0.

 

At tip off, Carleton took possession of the ball and Raven captain Ines Jelic was first on the board with a two-point basket following three failed attempts in the first 40 seconds by her teammates.

 

Anyone who attends university full time will tell you how hard student life can be. Balancing lectures, studying and homework on one hand and friends, parties and extracurricular activities on the other can consume all of a person’s time and energy, leaving little opportunity for anything outside of school. 

 

Yet across the country thousands of students choose to spend what little time they have away from school serving their country in the Canadian Reserve Force.

 

With a new album released in September, enthusiasm for rock band Social Code has been spreading across the country. Lead vocalist Travis Nesbitt spoke on the phone with the Charlatan’s Leanne Sharzer in advance of their Nov. 25 Ottawa gig.
