The Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) has finalized a deal with promotions company Urban Jamz to be reimbursed for tickets purchased for the Rick Ross concert cancelled spring 2013.

The amount CUSA paid for the tickets, the value of the reimbursement, and what form the reimbursement will take, cannot be legally disclosed, CUSA president Alexander Golovko said via email.

He did not comment on CUSA’s legal costs associated with the negotiations.

CUSA was represented by Stephanie Lewis of the Ottawa law firm Caza Saikaley SRL.

Golovko and Obed Okyere, president of Urban Jamz and former CUSA president, released the same statement regarding the agreement, calling it “mutually satisfactory” and legally binding for CUSA and Urban Jamz.

CUSA had already purchased tickets to sell to students at a discount when the concert was cancelled.

Critics called on CUSA to cancel the concert over Ross’ song U.O.E.N.O., in which he raps about putting drugs in a woman’s drink without her knowledge.
Urban Jamz said on Twitter the concert was cancelled due to “security concerns.”
