The Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) nomination period for their upcoming election has closed, and executive hopefuls are set to start campaigning March 11.

The presidential position is contested for the second year in a row. Christina Muehlberger and Kofi Yamoah are both vying for the top job, according to the GSA website.

Muehlberger’s platform states she will work against tuition fee increases and campaign for non-commercial student space. Yamoah emphasized more teaching assistant positions for graduate students and collaboration between the GSA and the undergraduate student association.

Kerry Burke, studying political science, and Kari Charles, a legal and African studies student, are both running for vice-president (external), making it the only other contested position.

Vice-president (finance) candidate Rabbi Hossain, vice-president (operations) candidate Justine Mallah, and vice-president (academic) candidate Michael Bueckert are running unopposed.

Graduate students can vote for candidates March 19-20.
