The Charlatan spoke to Elizabeth Roach about her top moment this season in a new segment about student-athletes’ favourite plays.
Elizabeth Roach, guard, basketball:
My favourite play is to just get in transition. Once you get a stop or you get a defensive rebound, you just push the ball really quickly and try and catch the other team off guard, either get ahead of them or kind of just to randomly attack.
It comes off of a defensive rebound or a steal or a defensive stop.
Once you take over possession of the ball, you just take off and try and attack quickly the other way, when the team’s not expecting you to. Or maybe the team’s unorganized, so you can try and find a way in.
The whole team needs to be on the same page or else the whole team needs to run the floor.
So you run as a group and try and take the other team down the floor and create openings for each other.
