Another frosh week has come and gone and, assuming I graduate this year, this one has been my last. This, however, is not a sad thing.
I am super lucky to have participated in Carleton frosh weeks from “CU on the High Seas” to “Raven’s Toy Chest” and each week has been stellar.
Raven’s Toy Chest held true to the traditions of past weeks while incorporating new aspects. I know the program is set up very well for the Ravens to come.
Central to the success of frosh week is Carleton’s volunteer base. Each year, Carleton is blessed to have hundreds of energetic, positive and all around great volunteers dedicate their time, their money and their sanity to welcome Carleton’s newest “Ravens” to the nest.
I want to thank my Dinos and all the facils, vice-heads, heads, Ravens, OCs, administration staff and other volunteers for a wonderful week. I want to commend you all for being mature leaders who are always ready to have a “Bacon! Bacon! Party!” I also want to thank the frosh for being enthusiastic, even after 8 a.m. wake-ups. I hope you have all settled in to the nest and hopefully will sign up to be next year’s frosh volunteers.
It may seem that frosh week ends at closing ceremonies with Tympanic’s set and the crowning of “group of the year.” However, that certainly isn’t the case. I love that frosh week is anything but one week in duration. The week sets the tone for the year and reaffirms the reasons to be a Raven.
Carleton, we had a great frosh week. Let’s get active in our community and have a great year!
You’ve got a friend in me.
