1. Why are you running for CUSA council?
I am running for CUSA because we need to return to having a council that gets along and works together. It is crucial that PAPM continues to be an independent councillor who will represent their interests rather than the interests of an external group.
2. What do you think makes you a good candidate?
I am an excellent candidate because I truly am a team player, but I will also serve as an independent voice for the faculty. I have the support of PAPM students from all sides of the political spectrum and am very proud to be able to look past partisanship for partnership.
3. What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?
Running for councillor is different than running for an executive position. I don’t know who the new executives will be but I am ready to work with whomever the students choose. If elected, I plan to focus on balancing the budget in a responsible meaningful way and putting forward a motion to amend if necessary.
Similarly, I would hope the new council that’s elected will put student issues first and foremost before external ones, but I will definitely put forward motions to amend the agenda if that’s not the case. There is a lot to do and student issues need to be given priority.
4. What’s one fun fact about yourself?
During frosh week, I got to destroy a Gee-Gee pinata in front of the entire school.
