A protest and march hosted by Indigenous Solidarity Ottawa took place in the downtown region Friday afternoon.

The protest was against government inaction towards Indigenous issues across the country.

On the group’s Facebook page, activists say they rallied to support a variety of Indigenous groups. The act of solidarity was in support of the Haudenosaunee nation and the 1492 Land Back Lane movement, the Moose Moratorium on Algonquin territory, M’ikmaq nation and treaty rights in Eastern Canada, Wet’suwet’en nation and the pipeline crisis, the Tiny House Warriors movement and the Rotinonhseshá:ka of Kanehsatà:ke.

After activists’ speeches and drumming, protestors and activists marched through the streets of the downtown core. The group made their final stop outside of the Ontario Court of Justice on Elgin Street.
