The Charlatan is Carleton University’s independent newspaper. Run by students for students, the paper has been providing the Carleton community with news and entertainment for more than 75 years. 

Job Description: Multimedia assistant

The Charlatan multimedia assistant is a creative honorarium position. The multimedia assistant has a close relationship with the editorial staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing multimedia content (i.e. audio and video projects) alongside section editors;
  • Helping multimedia volunteers with equipment and editing as necessary;
  • Assisting the multimedia/web editor with special media projects as necessary;
  • Other reasonable duties as required.

Characteristics of a strong applicant include:

  • Experience in producing and editing audio content;
  • Experience in producing and editing video content;
  • Knowledge of the Carleton University community;
  • Creative;
  • Organized;
  • Resourceful;
  • Collaborative;
  • Positive attitude.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, flexible hours

Experience:

  • At least one (1) year creating audio or video content (preferred)
  • At least one (1) year of involvement in the Carleton community (preferred)
