Name: Harrison Boyd
Program/year: Second-year journalism
Position running for: Journalism councillor
Why are you running for CUSA council?
I want CUSA to be something that all members can be proud of and able to engage in. I want to bring equity for all, efficiency, and mandated transparency.
What do you think makes you a good candidate?
I think my experience is what makes all the difference. My work as CASG’s VP Academic has allowed me to build a working relationship with senior administration, and my time on CUSA’s constitutional board has given me a good understanding on how the Association is run.
What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?
1. Firstly I want to bring more social events to the Journalism society. It’s a small group that should be given resources to bring its membership closer together.
2. I want to amend the comity rules of council so they don’t alienate members.
What’s one fun fact about yourself?
My hair grows out into a full grown afro. If you ask nicely I might just bring it back.
