Recent PhD graduate May Chazan became the first Carleton graduate to receive the Alice Wilson Award from the Royal Society of Canada, according to a press release.
The award is given to a woman of outstanding academic qualifications who plans on entering a career in research or scholarship at a post-doctoral level, according to their website.
Since graduating from Carleton in 2011, Chazan has started her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto, according to the release.
The award will be presented at the society’s induction and awards ceremony Nov. 26 in Ottawa.
