Results for the 2020 Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) election have been released on the CUSA website.

This year’s results come in the wake of an extended voting period—until 11 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. on Jan. 30—due to the overturning of an opt-out voting rule on the last day of the voting period.

8,810 votes were cast this year, a slight increase from last’s year’s election which saw 7,783 votes cast.

A ranked voting system was used, meaning candidates needed to achieve 50 per cent or more of the cast votes. If candidates were not able to garner 50 per cent or more of the votes, the candidate with the least amount of votes is eliminated and votes are transferred to voters’ second-ranked candidate.

The Students First slate won every CUSA executive position.

Candidates marked in bold are the victors.
