An emergency meeting of the Carleton Academic Student Government (CASG) was held on Jan. 29 to discuss the termination of two of their vice-presidents over missing money.
The CASG agenda for the evening stated the organization wanted to terminate vice-president (internal) Sarah McCue and vice-president (operations) Tabitha McDonald.
However, moments after approving the agenda, the council voted to close the session to the public and the Charlatan was asked to leave the room.
President Andrew Kwai then decided the meeting would not be continuing with the motion, due to “new information” which he refused to disclose.
While no CASG members would comment on the very short proceedings, CASG human rights representative Arun Smith said the president had not disclosed why the termination proceedings would not take place and said that instead, a statement would be issued.
The emergency meeting was called after a petition was signed by 10 CASG members calling to investigate McCue and McDonald’s actions.
