The Carleton Students for Liberty (CSFL) took down their replacement “free speech wall” in the Unicentre atrium Jan. 25.

It was only meant to be up for a week, according to CSFL campus co-ordinator Ian CoKehyeng.

“There was no requirement or complaints brought forward to the university that resulted in them taking it down,” student affairs director Ryan Flannagan said.

Flannagan said he will be meeting Feb. 4 with Arun Smith, the seventh-year Carleton human rights student who tore down the original wall on Jan. 22.

While Flannagan could not give details on the meeting, he said university sanctions tend to be rehabilitative, not punitive.
