Carleton’s tunnels near the residence buildings are cordoned off due to flooding, as of 7 p.m. today.

Four residence buildings are currently inaccessible through the tunnels—Prescott, Frontenac, Renfrew, and Lanark, according to Carleton’s Facilities and Management Planning.

Residence buildings close to Residence Commons are accessible through the tunnels, and there is no flooding in the tunnels after Mackenzie Building.

The flooding occurred due to a water main break near Lanark House, FMP told the Charlatan.

As of 9 p.m., FMP told the Charlatan that they are in the process of digging to the ruptured pipe that caused the flooding.

The process of removing the water may continue all night, and students will be updated in the morning.

More to come.
