A pool of blood was found in Residence Commons on March 13 for the second time in two weeks.

A student received “serious injuries” after jumping down a staircase, said Steven Reid, media relations officer for Carleton University.

Amer Reda, a third-year political science student who saw the blood, said he observed four or five police cars, seven police officers, and several paramedics at the scene.

“There were medical supplies strewn about on the ground and I noticed a bloody pile of cloth, maybe a T-shirt or something, and a substantial pool of blood on the ground,” Reda said.

Reid said the student was transported to the Civic Hospital in Ottawa that night. He was accompanied by Carleton staff.

Last week, blood was found in Residence Commons after a student cut his arm punching through glass.
