Hello Ravens!

My name is Ashley Courchene and I am running to be your next vice president of student services.

I am a third-year political science student and I am loving what I’m doing in life right now at Carleton. As the current Aboriginal Service Centre coordinator, I have been active in raising awareness about Indigenous cultures and have definitely found a passion in bringing people together to learn from each other. My RISE 2016 campaign has been a product of that passion.

I have also been involved with the First Peoples Council since my first year while running for CUSA council as a public affairs rep, then for vice-president (student issues) in my second year. I also re-established the Carleton Campus Greens on campus before handing it to some of my fellow students who could take care of it better than I.

I am confident that as your new VPSS, I will bring in the same dedication, passion and determination I brought to the Aboriginal Service Centre. With a fresh new perspective that can help build on the outstanding work current coordinators have done, together as students,we can inform, involve, and inspire for Change.
