Name: Adam Carroll
Program/year:
First-year journalism
Position running for:
Journalism councillor
Why are you running for CUSA council?
I’m running for CUSA council because CUSA has not been accessible enough to students – myself and other journalism students have even been faced with open hostility and obstruction from the executives. As well, I’m running to keep CUSA part of the largestand most effective student organization in Canada: the Canadian Federation of Students.
What do you think makes you a good candidate?
I believe I’m the best candidate as my record show that I have no qualms with questioning whatever administration is in power. I’ve gone after the Carleton administration, the CUSA executive, and I don’t think it should stop there.
What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?

1. One of the things I hope to achieve if elected is bring even greater transparency to CUSA – I think journalism students (and students in general) shouldn’t be jumping through hoops just to get basic information out of CUSA.
2. Greater autonomy for council – vote whipping is unacceptable!
What’s one fun fact about yourself?

I’m not “politically neutral” and not always “moderate” – and I’m completely open about it! Just ask!
