Carleton’s campus is comprised of multiple chapters, one being a publication called In/Words that is diving into the school year and Carleton community headfirst this fall.

“In/Words is a small press and literary magazine run out of Carleton University,” new editor Leah Mol said.  “It supports local literature by publishing both quarterly issues and chapbooks.”

The Sock ‘n’ Buskin Theatre Company is preparing for a busy upcoming 66th year at Carleton as it pulls together productions of the tragicomedy Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, the children’s fantasy Peter Pan and the smash-hit off-Broadway musical You’re in Town.

On the north side of campus, in the basement of St. Patrick’s building there is an ode to Canadian culture, the Carleton University Art Gallery (CUAG).

After a generous donation – both monetary and artistic – from Frances Barwick, CUAG opened in 1992. The donation of 57 pieces of Canadian art in addition to 75 per cent of the Barwick estate encouraged the beginnings of a campus gallery.

Diana Nemiroff, CUAG director, described the gallery as “one of the most beautiful gallery spaces in Ottawa.”

Geoff Plint is a second-year neuroscience student who says, when it comes to our relationship with the environment,  we need to start taking less and giving more.
