OC Transpo offers bus pass reimbursment

Students over the age of 27 who were forced to buy an adult bus pass for the month of September will be reimbursed $19.50, which is equal to the difference of a student bus pass, OC Transpo announced Sept. 15.

Ottawa City Council voted unanimously on Sept. 9 to reverse the age-cap on student bus passes for students over the age of 27.

For Carleton scientist Anatoli Ianoul, being recognized for his research on antibiotic resistance was a welcome surprise.

Ianoul, an associate professor of chemistry at Carleton, won the Early Researcher Award (ERA) for his work with antimicrobial peptides last month. He and 300 other researchers across Ontario accepted the award from the provincial government.

“I was very happy and a little bit surprised,” he said in an e-mail. “I knew how tough the competition was and was pleased to know that I was awarded the ERA.”

The Conservative party is spreading political awareness on the Carleton campus through a cheeky new advertisement, with the tagline, “Freak out your prof. Join the Conservatives.”
