The Carleton women’s basketball team finished what was a very up-and-down regular season with a huge win over the Nipissing Lakers on Feb. 21.
With the win, the Ravens finished the season 9-10, claiming the last spot in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) playoffs.
The winless Lakers were just the opponent the Ravens needed to claim the last spot, dominating them at home by a 47-point margin.
Ravens forward Heather Lindsay led both teams with 24 points, shooting 10 for 18 from the floor, and also recording 17 rebounds.
Carleton was also able to spread the ball around fairly well, with second-year guard Stephanie Carr scoring 13 points, and first-year guard Nicole Gilmore coming off the bench to score 16.
All of their efforts combined to give the Ravens their biggest point total in 2014-15 with 81, including four players scoring double digits.
The Ravens will now face off against the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees in their first game of the OUA playoffs Feb. 25.
The Gee-Gees finished their season 14-5 on top of the OUA North division.
The Ravens have not had great success against their cross-town rivals, losing to them twice by five and six-point margins, respectively.
