Dear Carleton University Students’ Association,

It’s been so long since we’ve heard from many of your executive members. We know you’ve been busy with elections and Pandamonium but we hope you haven’t forgotten about us. You can’t just expect our relationship to stay strong when you pick up and run off to southern Ontario without telling us where you’re going or why. Oh, how we would have loved to hear all about it.

We remember a time when you gave us your undivided attention. You told us about all the wonderful things you were doing for us, for instance fighting for more affordable transit. You made us feel loved. But you have become so distant. We are so forlorn!

Do you remember the elections? We spent hours upon hours interviewing and video taping candidates. We made a connection. You opened up and we listened. It was a magical time. And now, you don’t even return our calls.

Of course we’ve had our ups and downs. Sure, there was that whole affair last year with Shinerama. But we thought we’d gotten past that. This was supposed to be a new year, a fresh start. But such distance breeds doubt.

We’ve heard rumours you’ve been canoodling with Guelph students. Are you cheating on us? We don’t want to believe the awful things we hear, but what are we supposed to think if you won’t even talk to us?

We know how you feel about the work we do, gathering facts and seeking truth, and oh, it’s a shame how it drives us apart. But bring us good news then, oh fair CUSA. Stand up for your convictions and that will be all we have to report.

Don’t leave us like this, wondering . . . was it something we said?
