Chris Infantry calls himself “the party guy.” The fourth-year public affairs and policy management student said that means he will be best able to meet students’ needs as vice-president (student life), which he's running for as part of the “United Carleton” slate.
It’s a job he said he wants in order to create events students can get involved in. Right now, he said, “Students can relate, but they’re not engaged.”
Infantry said he decided to run because he wants to make a difference in people’s lives, to provide them with events that incorporate their ideas. He plans on opening the orientation week concert up to all students, not just first-years. “It’ll increase the revenue which means better artists,” he said.
As vice-president (student life), Infantry said he wants to include first-year students in events. “As VP of student life I can help make [events] all-ages,” he said.
Infantry said the connections he has made as president of Rideau River Residence Association will help him “allow students to use their university.”
Infantry said voters are electing experience if they vote for him. Every member of United Carleton has “been here, whether it’s behind the scenes or at the forefront,” Infantry said.
He said he believes people will pay attention to experience, something he thinks his slate has.
