The unofficial results for the Rideau River Residence Association (RRRA) were released on March 10 by the RRRA Elections Office. 1,183 out of 3,518 eligible voters—residence students—cast their votes, marking a 33.6 per cent voter turnout.
The Your Voice slate, led by current RRRA vice-president (administration) Jacob Howell, came out on top. Next year’s executive will see Howell as president with his teammates Sissi De Flaviis and Mali Mapani becoming vice-president (administration) and vice-president (programming) respectively.
The results are as follows:
Your Voice: 513
Ignite Change: 367
RRRAving Ravens: 289
Unanswered: 14
Last night, chief electoral officer Kieran Moloney and deputy electoral officer Niall Gladdy announced that the results would be delayed due to an investigation, but further details were not provided. According to the statement of unofficial election results provided to the Charlatan tonight, the investigation was regarding allegations of campaign overspending beyond the $500 slate limit.
“The elections office has now verified all expenditures and is confident in reporting that all teams have abided by the monetary limits imposed on their campaigns,” the statement reads.
According to the notice, official results should be available on March 13.
