Three lockers in Carleton’s tunnels were set on fire Feb. 14, according to campus safety.

One of the lockers was decorated for Valentine’s Day and the decorations were set on fire, said Allan Burns, Carleton’s director of university safety.

The two others were empty and the person responsible had filled them with paper and set them on fire.

“We’re very disturbed about this,” Burns said. “This might just be a prank . . . but certainly the opportunity for a tragic result is there.”

The lockers were located in different areas near the Unicentre and campus safety was able to keep the fires contained, he said.

“Fortunately we were able to get them out quite quickly,” Burns said, adding an investigation is ongoing.
