Hello everybody, my name is Kevin Leo. I am in my third year of civil engineering at Carleton University. I am originally from India, but grew up in Mississauga.

My main interests lie within the realm of engineering and international development. Post university, I plan to work with international organizations on engineering developmental projects for marginalized communities.

As for other interests, I spend much of my free time playing basketball and learning new languages. I served on the Rideau River Residence Association (RRRA)’s council last year and am a returning councillor this year. I ensured the utmost transparency and equity within the association and its programs.

Additionally, I was on the newly formed RRRA equity committee where I advocated for free period products, worked on an ethics and equity code and more sexual violence prevention measures on campus.

I plan to advocate for more academic and mental health resources for all students at Carleton, especially post-pandemic as I can see the effects post COVID-19 on my faculty.

Additionally, I will ensure CUSA is a transparent organization and advocate for the best interests of all Carleton students.

I will ensure CUSA is upholding its new democratic reforms and continuing to be progressive and equitable with newly formed policies.

Ahoy, there, folks! I’ve been at Carleton for quite a while. I’m going on eight years in mechanical engineering. I am undoubtedly the oldest f*ck in Carleton engineering.

I first got involved with student governance over a decade ago and I currently hold positions with the Carleton Student Engineering Society and the Carleton Mechanical and Aerospace Society, which have me actively tapped into the goings-on of Carleton engineering and the Carleton community as a whole.

I’m a go-getter, I like puns and dad jokes and I go survival camping in my spare time. People who know me know I’m not shy about sharing my opinions and I’m not one to stand idly by if something’s wrong and I have the ability to help.

Ultimately, I just want to see Carleton be the best it can be. I want our education to go smoothly and our time here to be the most fun and memorable it can be for everyone. I think that CUSA and the engineering societies could do a lot more to coordinate towards these goals, too.

We need to remember that we’re here to serve the student body the best we can, and the power to institute positive change comes from our numbers. If this sounds like a voice you want brought to CUSA, then vote for me.
