Thirty teams of two ran around campus for Carleton’s Amazing Race, organized by the Student Experience Office (SEO) and Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) Oct. 23.

In its third year, Jeremy Brzozowski, first-year experience programs co-ordinator, said the purpose of the event is “to get students familiar with the Carleton campus, service centres, information, and get them better acclimated with the area.”

Amisha Agarwal, an SEO peer helper, said, “We’ve been planning this since school started in September as our first formal activity. It’s a really exciting and unique event.”

The morning started early in Porter Hall for participants.

Sixty students ran out the doors of Porter Hall, looking for items such as posters, hair elastics and CUSA prints.

At 4 p.m., the last team standing was Team Benson, made up of students Morgan Cassidy and Loren Gauthier.

Of the 75 teams interviewed to compete, 30 got the chance to compete for an all-inclusive bus trip for two to Daytona Beach, Fla.
