The Carleton Ravens lost their fifth game in a row as they fell to the McGill Martlets 35-0 at Molson Stadium on Oct. 3.
The Martlets took an early lead in the first half of the game with three tries and a conversion. Martlets players Michelle Blair, Sarah Wimmer, and Bianca Della Porta were able to power through the Ravens’ defence and score, while Caroline Suchorski kicked for the successful conversion.
A bad move by the Ravens resulted in a penalty and the Martlets responded with a three-point penalty conversion, furthering their lead 20-0 by the end of the half.
The Ravens continued to fall behind the Martlets early into the second half with Blair scoring her second try of the game, furthering their lead to 25-0.
The Martlets continued their scoring trend with two tries later into the half from Alexandra Rob and Kacie Wilkins, overpowering the Ravens 35-0.
The Ravens now stand 0-5 in their regular season with two games left. They sit in last place of the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec standings.
The only bright spot in the game for Carleton was when Ravens’ back Briana Yerbury was named player of the game for her strong display of skill on the field.
The Ravens will be hitting home field for their next match against the Bishop’s University Gaiters on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
