The Rideau River Residence Association (RRRA) hiring board has opened its application process for Chief and Deputy Elector Officers in preparation for the 2016 RRRA executive elections.

Graham Pedregosa, RRRA president, said the positions are very important to the election.

“The CEO will call the nomination period and the election after that, so a lot is up to them. Writ notices calling elections cannot be announced until we have filled those two positions,” Pedregosa said.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) is an external employee charged with organizing RRRA elections, including the nomination process for candidates, and any recalls or referenda that may take place during the next RRRA term.

The Deputy Electoral Officer (DEO) is a neutral member of RRRA, assists the CEO, and takes on the CEO’s responsibilities in cases of illness or absence.

Applications will be accepted from Feb. 7-11. Interviews for the position will held during reading week, and officers will be chosen by Feb. 22.
