For the fifth consecutive season, the Carleton Ravens men's basketball team are ranked first in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) heading into the regular season, according to the CIS BlackBerry Top 10 rankings released this afternoon.

Going 8-0 against non-NCAA opponents in the pre-season, the Ravens received 31 of 41 first-place votes in the inaugural 2010-11 poll, to put them ahead of the second ranked UBC Thunderbirds.

Meanwhile, the Ravens women's basketball team also cracked the top ten, slotting in at seventh overall in CIS. The two-time defending champion Windsor Lancers, who will be hosting this year's CIS national championships, are the top-ranked women's squad, receiving 41 of a possible 43 first-place votes.

Both men's and women's Ravens open their regular season against Guelph and Brock this weekend at the Ravens' Nest.
