After attracting 10 million users in its first two weeks, Google+ is the fastest growing social network ever, according to CNNMoney, the world’s largest business website.
Google CEO Larry Page said in a July 15 conference call with analysts that he believes this is opening great opportunities for Google.
Google+ is working on getting more advertisers and contacts on their network by giving their website time to gain more individual users.
Profiles and pages for companies will be available at the end of 2011, according to Pradeep Chopra, a writer for online marketing magazine afaqs!. This will help businesses, as there will a large base of people waiting to join, like or follow their company pages.
Some believe that Google shouldn’t be afraid to take on the social media giant Facebook.
“If Facebook would have taken that position because MySpace dominated the social network scene you wouldn’t have Facebook,” says Alan K’necht, author of The Last Original Idea.
“Each [social network] is different and only time will tell which will rise or fall.”
