Ottawa police were called to campus this morning after an OC Transpo bus collided with a car outside the River Building around 8:30 a.m.

The crash took place on Campus Avenue where the road turns into University Drive.

Campus Safety director Allan Burns confirmed that no students were injured in the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.

“Ottawa police were called to take a report,” Burns said. “There were no injuries.”

It is unclear which vehicle was at fault and whether a student was driving the car, Burns said.

Brittany van Frankfoort, a third-year journalism student, said she didn’t see the collision happen, but traffic was slow-moving on the road.

“The front left side of a black car appears to have hit or been hit by the middle of an OC Transpo bus,” she said via Facebook.

“There was a bit of traffic backing up entering Carleton as people pulled through the River Building tunnel and realized that they couldn’t turn right onto University Road since the accident blocked the road.”

She also said the other OC Transpo buses along Campus Avenue evacuated students on the buses.
