Name: Nathaniel Bruni
Program/Year: Political science, first year
Position running for: Public affairs councillor
1. Why are you running for CUSA council?
I am running for CUSA because of three things: first, to fight for the rights and security of students since it has been put into question over the past few months; second, to make sure CUSA is actually working for the students and not spending students time and money in court; and third, to represent the voices of students on campus, as I fell they have not been represented over the past year.
2. What do you think makes you a good candidate?
I feel that a good candidate is someone who is confident and honest while holding to the promises they make during the elections. A good candidate should also have a good reputation amongst the students which should be shown through their past experiences.
3. What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?
If elected, I wish to [acheive] the redefinition of the “safe space” policy on campus, which will provide students with more safety and security; and to not have CUSA waste any more money and/or time in court, instead of working to better the Carleton experience for students.
4. What’s one fun fact about yourself?
I have been doing martial arts for over the past eight years and I have practiced judo, grappling, ninjitsu, and weapons defense. Currently, I am a first degree black belt.
