The women’s hockey team faced off against the men’s soccer team in a friendly ice hockey game March 27 at the Ice House.

This is the third year this game has occurred, organized by the teams themselves.

Despite hockey not being their main sport, the men’s soccer team came away with the win, although the score was never officially kept.

“A lot to a little, like 10-1 after the first period, think it might have finished 12-4,” Calof said of the score.

The soccer team had several high-level players including goalie Michael Tiberio, who played Junior B in Toronto for a year, as well as Braden MacKay, and Calof himself who had high level hockey experience.

“Myself who played AA hockey until AAA came about, and then I had to choose between sports,” Calof said about his experience with soccer and hockey. “Then we had a couple guys who played house league. So not too bad of a team to put together.”

The game this year was organized by Calof, and women’s hockey team forward Ainslee Kent. The organizers tend to change each year.

“In years past it was Andrew Latty and Ainslee, but this year it was myself and Ainslee again from the women’s hockey team,” Calof said.

The player of the game was the men’s soccer team defender Jordan Rollocks, who scored two goals and played with a lot of intensity throughout the exhibition game.
