How would the copy centre, in the basement of our university library, justify a $2 flat fee for printing using a USB key and/or cash?
Is there any reason aside from siphoning more money from us students barely scraping by?
I have filed a complaint to Graphic Services against the introduction of this charge for having the copy desk help with printing.
I have used their services in the past years to print all my assignments without any issue, namely using a USB key.
I choose to not put money on my campus card, as I prefer to use cash for my printing budgets.
This $2 charge is ridiculous for a university printing centre.
I don’t care if Staples charges a flat rate, I pay tuition and expect printing a document won’t cost me $2 on campus.
I also don’t like to use the e-kiosks as they rarely work properly and, as mentioned, I don’t put money on my campus card.
Why was this change made?
I feel this is a concern for all students alike.
We pay enough money for our education. I do not feel I should be required to pay additional funds for a service Carleton should be supporting themselves. What exactly does our tuition pay for?
On a final note, I encourage you to contact the Graphic Services department and request the same information I did: what is the justification for this charge and for what exactly is this $2 being used?
