Carleton University woke up Sunday to the soft sound of snow falling on crumpled leaves.

Sunday’s snow was the most to fall on Nov. 9 since 1897, with 11.7 cm that coated all corners of the university in white.

Many students were out enjoying the change in weather, with some making snow angels, sliding down hills and lobbing snowballs outside.

Snow fell again into Tuesday morning as Ottawa officially welcomed the wintry weather.

The buses and the O-Train faced some disruption from the inclement weather. The windows, headsigns and glass-enclosed shelters fogged up and covered with ice and snow.
