Position running for: Public affairs councillor
1. Why are you running for CUSA council?
I am very active in campus life from volunteering for GLBTQ, CUSA, and various aboriginal events. I find it very important that student voices be heard and by being part of so many groups on campus I wish to better student life by representing my faculty on the CUSA council.
2. What do you think makes you a good candidate?
– I am the social work chair for the CASG, which enabled me to begin the process of learning how to represent students.
– I was part of the organizing committee for Drop Fees Day of Action 2012, which had me involved in student action.
3. What are two things you hope to achieve if elected?
– I hope to better represent the students in the public affairs faculty than previous councillors.
– I hope to continue fighting for student rights such as equality, lower tuition fees, and a safe campus for all.
4. What’s one fun fact about yourself?
I love longboarding, and when it’s nice outside, I tend to longboard to school and carve down hills.
