Dunton Tower was closed on Sept. 13 and 14 due to flooding in the building, according to a release from Carleton’s facilities management and planning.
The flood caused a power outage and the university encouraged staff and students in the building to work in the MacOdrum Library or elsewhere on campus.
A sign posted on the outside of Dunton Tower read “Due to an electrical equipment failure. The majority of electrical power is off in the Building.”
This is the second time the building has been closed due to a power outage since August. It was also closed from Aug. 26 to 28 after a water line burst, which also caused an electrical failure.
Dunton Tower was built in 1971.
