What Carleton-bound students need to know is that there is hope in the fight against the “15.” Carleton offers a wide range of fitness programs to help students stay active. From spin classes to dance lessons, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

For those who prefer playing organized sports as their form of exercise, Carleton offers a variety of intramural leagues, such as dodge ball and ice hockey. Students can gather up some friends and sign up as a team, or register individually.

If intense competition is what you’re looking for, joining one of Carleton’s competitive club teams may be the best fit for you. Second-year psychology major Jesse Moore said playing competitive women’s volleyball helped her to stay active during her first year.

“I stayed in shape because of all the training they made us do,” she said. “They’d always have a work-out schedule for us, so it definitely helped.”

With so many choices available, staying active at Carleton is as easy as opening a bag of chips. The question is which one you’ll choose.
