Born and raised in Nanaimo, B.C. (no, not the bar), Farhan Devji never thought he’d end up in the nation’s capital. But three years after making the move, he couldn’t be happier.

A self-proclaimed sports enthusiast, Farhan has previously written for the Vancouver Canucks and the Vancouver Whitecaps. Last year, he was also the Charlatan’s sports editor.

Farhan’s work has appeared in the Vancouver Sun, the Coquitlam Now, and the Nanaimo Daily News. In addition to his journalistic work, Farhan is a published author.

As editor-in-chief, Farhan hopes to take the skills he’s acquired and apply them to the paper as a whole. Understanding the increasing importance of online journalism, Farhan ran for the position on a platform focused on improving the Charlatan’s web presence.

In his spare time, Farhan enjoys doing anything sports-related, spending time with family and friends, playing the guitar, and singing in the shower.
