'Forward' slate members Jaden Slawter, Sash Mahara and Jenna Smith.

The results of the 2020 Rideau River Residence Association (RRRA) election are in.

RRRA’s chief electoral officer Qusai Yusuf presented the results late Friday evening over a Facebook post.

The Forward slate won. Next year’s executive includes former vice-president (programming) Jaden Slawter as president. The vice-presidents of programming and administration for the upcoming year are Jenna Smith and Sash Mahara.

Forward won the election with over 53 per cent of the votes, while the runner up, Action, received only 29 per cent of the vote.

920 ballots were returned out of the 3,462 invitees. The 26.6 per cent response rate is significantly lower than the 33.6 per cent voter turnout in last year’s election, something organizers worked hard to combat despite this election being RRRA’s first online campaign.

The results are as follows:

Forward: 496

Action: 266

Elevate: 153

Not Answered: 5
