The resignation of the Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA) council chair will have “no effect” on the council, according to CUSA president Alexander Golovko.

Stephanie Feldman, a third-year political science student and former House of Commons page, said she resigned as chair of CUSA council Nov. 8 for “personal reasons.”

“It’s been a pleasure serving the Association in my capacity as council chair,” Feldman said via email, “but I’m ready to move on.”

Feldman’s resignation is not official until the next council meeting Nov. 20. Golovko said a new chair will be elected at the meeting.

“On behalf of CUSA, I would like to thank Ms. Feldman for all of her hard work for the students in the past year,” Golovko said.

Feldman was elected to the position in January after council members voted former chair Brent Farrington out of the post in the midst of CUSA’s legal disputes.
